What is Q Connected?
Q Connected is the subscription service that brings your Q Display, Q App and Q Guard to life. It keeps your Q Display connected to the internet through its built-in SIM, and connects your boat to the Q App so you can monitor and manage it remotely. Q Connected keeps your Q Display always up to date and online.
On the water
On the water, you get real-time weather forecasts, the ability to search places from the OpenStreetMap database, use Google Maps, browse the internet, listen to internet radio and much more directly on your display.
Off the water
Q Connected keeps you connected to your boat through the Q App, even when the Q Display is powered off and the main switch of your boat is turned off. Through the Q App, you can monitor key data like battery and fuel levels, your boat's location and engine data, control your boat remotely and let Q Guard watch over it around the clock. If something needs attention, you get alerted on your phone straight away.
What's changing
This spring, Q Connected is renewing. Previously, Q Connected came in two tiers: a basic Q Connected subscription and a Q Connected+ subscription that had internet data included. Going forward, there will be just one Q Connected subscription that covers all premium features on your Q Display and Q App, including features that previously required separate add-ons. Internet data is no longer bundled into the subscription. Instead, optional data packages are available as a separate one-time purchase.

Top up with optional data packages
While Q Connected is the key to unlock all the premium connectivity features of your Q Display and Q mobile app, some data-intensive features require a separate data package to be used. Features such as Google Maps, internet browsing, and internet radio can be used by adding optional internet data packages to your subscription, or by connecting your display to any external internet connection, such as a mobile phone hotspot or external WLAN.
Q Connected data packages are a one-time purchase available in 1 GB increments, so you only buy what you need.

For existing subscribers
All existing Q Connected subscriptions will be automatically moved to the new model - no action needed. You will get a notification on your app when the subscription renewal takes place.
If you had a Q Connected+ subscription, you will continue with the renewed Q Connected and receive extra data for the remainder of your subscription period. After the end of your subscription period, your subscription will continue as normal Q Connected, with the ability to purchase additional data as you need.
Cloud AIS remains available as an add-on to your Q Connected subscription for those who want to see AIS vessel data directly on their Q Display chart.
New to Q Connected?
You can activate Q Connected directly from the Q mobile app. The app will include a full overview of what's included and guide you through the activation step by step.
