Your Q Display is an intelligent, internet-connected navigation system that is continuously developed to enhance system stability, security, user experience, and new features. Updates not only improve security but also introduce new functionalities and enhance the overall user experience.
Update your Q Display now, or no later than the end of May 2025, to ensure the security, stability, and functionality of your device.
Starting from June 2025, devices that haven’t been updated to the latest software version recently will continue to function normally otherwise, but they will no longer be able to connect to the internet to fetch new updates, and their connection to the mobile app will be lost.
In addition to the aforementioned security update, we are releasing a software version for summer 2025 that includes a stability improvement for device displays, as well as new features to enhance the boating experience, such as completely redesigned chart and dashboard applications.
How to Update Your Q2 Display?
Note! If you have an active Q Connect subscription, your device will automatically download the newest software version when the device is powered on. You can link the mobile application and activate your subscription from Info → Mobile application linking guide
1. Connect your Q Display to the internet
Connect the device to the internet by activating the device’s internal SIM card through Info → Mobile application linking guide, or by connecting the device to an external wireless network through Settings → WLAN → Connect to available network
2. Download the software
Depending on the current software version, Q will either automatically download the new software upon connecting to the internet or prompt you to manually approve the update.
You can monitor the downloading progress under Settings → System settings → System info
3. Restart the display
The new version will be installed automatically upon the next device restart.

What happens if I don’t update my device?
Devices that are not updated will no longer be able to connect to the internet, which means:
- No further software updates can be downloaded after June 2025. This will prevent your device from receiving new features and important stability improvements.
- Your device will no longer be able to transmit boat data over the internet, causing the connection to the mobile application to be lost.
To ensure continued functionality, security, and access to all features, update your Q Display before the end of May 2025.
